Choosing the Right Sock
What's the difference between 15-20mmHg and 20-30mmHg?
15-20mmHg (our Everyday line) is light-to-moderate compression, a good starting point for standing jobs, daily wear, and travel. 20-30mmHg (our Athletic line) is firmer compression, often chosen for longer days on your feet, serious athletic training and recovery, and anyone who wants more support than the everyday level. If you have a diagnosed circulation condition or are recovering from a procedure, check with your doctor about which level is right for you.
Should I choose padded or non-padded sole?
This is independent of compression level. Padded sole gives extra cushioning, ideal for standing on hard floors all day. Non-padded sole is a sleeker, lower-profile fit, better for tighter shoes or a more athletic feel. Neither is "better" — it comes down to your shoes and personal preference.
How do I know what size to order?
SMOOTHTOE® compression socks are sized by your US shoe size, with separate ranges for men and women — no tape measure needed. Just match your everyday shoe size to the range on our chart. If you're between sizes, sizing up is usually the safer choice. See our Size Chart for the full men's and women's ranges.
How tight should compression socks feel?
Snug and supportive, not painful. You shouldn't feel numbness, tingling, or pinching at the toes. If a sock feels too tight or leaves deep marks after removal, try sizing up. If you have a diagnosed circulation condition, follow your doctor's specific guidance on compression level and fit.
Are Quarter, Low Cut, and No Show socks graduated compression?
No — our Quarter, Low Cut, and No Show styles use a single, uniform level of compression rather than graduated compression. Our Knee High, Crew, and Predator Merino Wool lines are the ones built with graduated (mmHg-rated) compression.
Quality & Trust
Is SMOOTHTOE® FDA registered?
Our Knee High compression socks (both 15-20mmHg and 20-30mmHg) are registered with the FDA as a Class 1 medical device — the FDA's lowest-risk device category (a manufacturer listing, not an FDA approval or clearance). This registration applies to the Knee High line. Our Crew and Predator Merino Wool styles also use graduated compression but are not FDA registered. Our Quarter, Low Cut, and No Show styles use a single level of compression rather than graduated compression, and are also not FDA registered. All styles are built to the same manufacturing standards.
Are your socks made in the USA?
Yes — every SMOOTHTOE® sock, across every style, is made in the USA.
What's your warranty and guarantee policy?
All SMOOTHTOE® socks come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Most styles carry a 5-year warranty against heel and toe blow-outs; our Predator Merino Wool line carries a 1-year warranty.
Care & Ordering
How do I wash my SMOOTHTOE® socks?

Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — free shipping on orders over $50.
What if my socks don't fit or I'm not satisfied?
We back every order with a 30-day money-back guarantee — if something isn't right, reach out and we'll make it right.
